It sits on an enviable backdrop, surrounded by lush hills and historic Cork Oak woods. Formerly the summer residence of the Domecq sherry dinasty, the club opened in 1991 quickly making a name for itself as one of Europe\’s elite golf courses. San Roque hosted the 1997 Ryder Cup Gala Dinner and was the base for both teams as they competed in nearby Valderrama. In addition, San Roque was the home of the European Tour Qualifying School Finals from 1993 to 2007 as well as hosts of the Spanish Open (2005 & 2006). Designed by the legendary Dave Thomas, the sensational Old Course is the pride of the club and is rated amongst the finest courses in Europe and always within the top 5 in Spain. With its length of 6494m it features beautiful cork oak woods on the front 9 and stunning water hazards on the back 9 holes. This championship course is fun to play whether you are a low or high handicap player. The Old Course has been renovated in 2021.
